Sprites, logos, and flat mascots usually look better in Cartoon mode with fewer colors. People and pets often look better in Detail mode, then a few hand fixes on eyes and outlines. If a face collapses into muddy midtones, lower max colors and re-crop tighter on the head. Hand paint beats hoping a second auto-pass will magically fix expression.
Build-friendly exports
Export a high-resolution PNG with full codes on cells when you need them (for example P01-style labels depending on the chart). Rulers and five-cell guides make counting rows easier on a physical board. Keep paper or a tablet next to the pegboard; zoom the file rather than squinting at a phone in landscape. Optionally include the site credit line on the PNG if you share charts with a class or club.
Privacy for personal and family photos
Family photos, pet portraits, and private commissions stay in the browser for conversion. Bead Pixel Art does not upload images to build these patterns. Still, pattern habits help: keep sparse single beads for accents only; merge lonely colors; leave intentional empty pegs for negative space instead of filling every cell.
